A firebrand leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chief Bugri Naabu, has said that it is time for Alan Kyerematen and his ‘Afafranto’ family to beat a retreat and return to the party.
He explained that the team, who resigned from the NPP to form what is now known as the Movement for Change, should come back and support the cause of the NPP ahead of the 2024 December elections.
Speaking to GhanaWeb in reaction to a claim made for a former National Chairman of the NPP, Nana Ohene Ntow, that he (Bugri Naabu) threatened to kill him, the former Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP said nobody even recognizes the Alan team so they should just return.
“I would even appeal to the Afafranto family; wherever they go, people will not trust them. if you listen to television; I’ve been listening to TV3 and I got to know that even they don’t recognise them as any party or anything. They better come back.
“So, I’m appealing to them to do their best and come back to the NPP and support Bawumia and Bawumia will win,” he said.
Chief Bugri Naabu also stated that the New Patriotic Party is more united now than ever, even as they put their support behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the December 2024 elections.
