A market woman from Awutu Senya West has sparked controversy with her candid remarks on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagship free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
In a recent interview, the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, expressed her discontent with the policy, stating, “I’d be stupid to vote for the NPP.”
The market woman’s comments have generated significant attention, with many interpreting her statement as a scathing critique of the policy’s implementation.
When asked to elaborate, she explained that despite the policy’s promise of free education, her children still face numerous challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, insufficient textbooks, and high extracurricular activity fees.
“I was expecting a better quality of education for my children, but the reality is far from it,” she said. “The NPP’s free SHS policy has only brought more problems.”
The NPP has yet to respond to the market woman’s comments, but opposition parties have seized on her statement as evidence of the policy’s shortcomings.
