VIDEO: The moment NDC protesters swam in the National Cathedral Pond

Some youth who were part of the ‘Enough is Enough’ demonstration by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) used the opportunity to visit the site of the infamous National Cathedral in Accra.

Videos from the visit provided a spectacle to behold as they were seen swimming in a pond created on the site by what seems to be rainwater.

The video that has since gone viral has sent tongues wagging as they cannot fathom why the government has spent Ghc 400,000,000 to construct only a pond.

Calls are being made to the incoming government to ensure that the people who were put in charge of the Cathedral will account for the mess they have created.

NDC Member of Parliament, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, Esq also joined the calls for an investigation into how the money was spent.

He in a post via social media said “This is the National Cathedral Site as of 1pm today, Tuesday, 17th September 2024. Some youth decided to venture to the cathedral site whilst leadership of the Accra Demo against the EC were presenting their Petition after the demo. What they discovered is a sight to behold. The video speaks for itself. So is this what has been done with our Ghc400million? Is this what we set up a whole Trust Fund for? Is this what we paid Adjaye millions of dollars for? Is this what we destroyed homes of Appeal Court judges for? Is this what we travelled to Israel to purchase a cornerstone for? Even the military are tired of guarding this pond. People must truly account for things like and only a change of Govt in December to RESET GHANA will guarantee accountability for ignominious crimes like this tomorrow. Cogito ergo sun…..”
