Ghanaian defender Dennis Antwi joins Al-Safa Sporting Club

Ghanaian steward guardsman Dennis Antwi has joined Saudi Arabian team, Al-Safa Sporting Club on a free transfer after spending a season with Al-Naft Sporting Club in the Iraqi League.

The center forward scored eighteen goals — ending up as second highest goal scorer in the league and the best tally of a foreigner in the league’s history.

The thirty-year-old striker attracted offers from Qatar and other countries but decided to continue his adventure in Saudi, which is fast becoming the center of football now.

Mr. Nana Kwarteng, CEO of Sports Light Consult, his agency speaking on the deal said “it’s a very good move because becoming a record goal scorer as a foreigner in the Iraqi league and attracting offers from other countries is a nice thing. Also, considering the fact that all the football superstars are moving to Saudi Arabia, it’s a place we will also be seen and I believe it’s a positive one.”

Dennis Antwi rouse through the ranks having played for Accra Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies in Ghana before moving abroad in his early days.
