Your Double Standards Is Galling – Nana B Fires Mahama And NDC

Following former President John Dramani Mahama’s commendation of Judges that adjudicated the Ambulance Purchase case at the Court of Appeals, the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has slammed Mr. Mahama over what he describes as selective outrage at the judiciary.

He accused the NDC flag bearer of hypocrisy after Mr. Mahama expressed his satisfaction with the court’s decision.

On his official Facebook page on Tuesday July 30, Mr. Mahama applauded the Court of Appeal’s acquittal and discharge of former deputy Finance Minister and incumbent Minority leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, describing it as a victory for the rule of law.

To him, the Appeals Court decision confirms his long-held view that the case was a form of political persecution.

Inyetestingly, the NDC which has on several occasions openly condemned the judiciary, sometimes even alleging that they work in tandem with President Akufo-Addo’s government appointees and its cronies, turned around to
hail the ruling as a triumph for justice.

It is on the basis of this that the NPP National Organiser descended heavily on former President Mahama and the NDC for praising the judiciary because the outcome of the case went in their favour.

He described their double standards on judiciary matters as “regrettable” and stated that their actions do not bode well for democracy.

Nana B expressed hope that the NDC and Mahama will not change their stance if the Supreme Court reverses the Court of Appeal’s decision.

Suddenly, John Mahama and the NDC are singing the praises of the judiciary they have bastardised and maligned for several years. Suddenly, the rule of law is at work because they have won. Suddenly, the court is no longer an appendage of government. Suddenly, the judges appointed by Akufo-Addo are not partisan.

He re-echoed, “The double standards of the NDC is regrettable and does not bode well for our democracy. While we disagree with the decision of the Court, we accept it in good faith and hope Mr Mahama and the NDC do not change their chorus should the decision of the Court of Appeal be reversed by the Supreme Court.”
