We converted the only chance we had against Senegal, says Black Satellites coach Desmond Ofei

Black Satellites coach, Desmond Ofei, has emphasized the efficiency of his team following Ghana’s 1-0 victory over Senegal.

In a postgame interview, Ofei highlighted their prowess, leading Ghana to secure a spot in the final of the 13th African Games football competition.

The winning goal, netted by substitute Michael Ephson in the 83rd minute, positioned Ghana for a chance at claiming its first football gold medal since the 2011 edition in Mozambique.

With this triumph, Ghana is set to compete in the gold medal match for both the men’s and women’s divisions.

Reflecting on the match, Ofei remarked, “They opted for the long ball, which caught us a bit off guard as we anticipated a more strategic approach from such a formidable team. Despite a lack of clear-cut chances in the first half, our perseverance paid off. My players are clinical; we capitalized on our one clear opportunity. I can’t recall any instance where we squandered our chances.”

Ghana is scheduled to face Uganda in the final showdown on Friday, March 22, at 20:00 GMT, hosted at the Accra Sports Stadium.
