Three parliamentary candidates with unconventional election strategies

As the 2024 elections draw near, parliamentary candidates are putting all their efforts into winning the hearts and minds of voters.

As the election campaign heats up, some candidates are adopting their own personal strategies to stand out from the crowd.

In a surprising twist to the traditional election campaign, three candidates have recently made headlines for their practical approach to voters.

Pius Opoku (NDC, Tano North): The NDC parliamentary candidate for Tano North, Pius Opoku, was filmed crushing okra to prepare okra stew for voters. Mr. Opoku was praised for his down-to-earth approach. The footage of him happily making the stew resonated with many, some of whom pledged their votes for him in return.

Baba Sadiq (NDC, Okaikoi Central): Another NDC candidate, Baba Sadiq, took a different approach by smacking a hoof for one voter. In a photo that went viral, Mr. Sadiq is seen wearing plain clothes and holding a pestle tightly in his hand as he hoofs and smacks.

Mike Oquaye Jnr (NPP, Dome Kwabenya): The NPP’s Dome Kwabenya candidate, Mike Oquaye Jnr, has adopted what some have described as an innovative election strategy. In a widely circulated video, Oquaye Jnr. He is shown leaning over a bowl of water and doing laundry for constituents as spectators cheer him on.

These services have sparked debate about the lengths politicians will go to in order to win voters’ support.
