NMC paid for no work done – MFWA’s Sulemana Braimah

The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa, Sulemana Braimah has taken on the National Media Commission for sleeping on their jobs.

According to him, Managers of the National Media Commission are being paid for no work done across the country considering contents being used by some media houses, especially in the Ashanti Region.

He singles out Oyerepa TV as one of the television stations that are not regulated and a basis for which he believes that the National Media Commission is not giving value for the money they earn.

Sulemana Braimah expressed these concerns in a post shared via social media.

He said “Oyerepa TV in Kumasi has been on a dangerous mission with some of their programmes. No ethics. They have turned a TV studio into a courtroom, insults all over, breaking families, etc. The National Media Commision (NMC) is fully aware of the dangerous practice, but doing nothing about it. It’s been a case of see something, say nothing and do nothing.

Meanwhile, the 18 or so persons who make up the NMC continue to be paid thousands of cedis every month by the state. Let’s ask ourselves, what work have they been doing to be receiving those fat montly payments. It’s called, fat pay for no work done. No value for money.

Our country can only become better when institutions work”.
