Social media users have criticized the Ghana Police Service for searching for politician Kwame Asare Obeng in connection with the 2019 investigation into the murder of journalist Ahmed Suale (commonly known as A Plus).
A Plus was recently called to the police headquarters for questioning after being asked the identity of Suale’s murderer. Investigative journalist Suale, who previously defended the people of Suale, was killed in Medina in 2019.
Agyapong noted that if Suale was found near his territory, his staff should arrest him and that he was ready to pay the damages.
Social media users are asking why the police did not arrest Kennedy Agyapong.
They accused the authorities of selective justice and nepotism.
One user is skeptical: “Look, it’s useless again. When was he killed? When Kennedy Agyapong said ‘He knows where Suale is, people should beat him to death and collect his reward’ ‘Where are the police?’ Your energy is short and you cannot be impressed by someone you like. He lives in Kumasi Do you need a pen to write an invitation for him? Or do you need credit to call? How do you invite A-Plus? Do the same to Kennedy Agyapong. Or are you afraid of fire? Who invited him to help with the investigation? A country full of fun. Kennedy Agyapong also appreciated some of his comments on this matter. If it were England it would have been invited to investigate long ago.
