NAPO calls on Agogomanhene for support in December 7 elections

The running mate to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has appealed to the Paramount chief of Agogo, Nana Akuoko Sarpong to support the party.

NAPO made the appeal when he paid a courtesy call on the Agogomanhene at his Royal Palace in Agogo.

Matthew Opoku Prempeh is on a nationwide tour, focusing on meeting with traditional authorities and how to strengthen the existing relationship between the NPP and the traditional leaders.

In the view of the Omanhene, although chiefs are not requiured to play active role in politics, they cannot sit aloof, so they will urge politicians to do thinsg that are in the interest of Ghanaians.

On his part, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, pointed out that his visit was to show respect and to deepen relationship between the party and traditional leaders.

Again, he is on the tour to seek cogent advice from Nananom, and to ultimately, remind them of why the NPP still remains the best political party in the country.

He said the Agogo state involvement in the development of Asanteman and Ghana cannot be underestimated, noting that his visit to the traditional leader of the state is to seek their blessings, prayers and support.

He re-echoed the party’s vision of effective partnership with traditional authorities in the governance of the country.

He observed that, Nananom role in the advancement of development is pivotal, and it is important that the NPP kept a closer partnership with them.

NAPO maintained that, it is only the government of the NPP which at all times show ultimate respect to all traditional authorities.

He appealed to the traditional leaders to keep supporting the vision of the New Patriotic Party and ensure that the NPP is retained to move the country forward.
