Kudjoe Fianoo worried about state of stadium facilities as Dreams FC risk playing home game against Zamalek at neutral venue

Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo has expressed his worry about state of stadium facilities in the country as Dreams FC and the Black Stars risk playing their home games at neutral venues.

Per recent inspection done by CAF, the Baba Yara Stadium will have to meet certain requirement before it can host certain category of games.

The Continental football governing body (CAF) is said to have rolled out certain requirement for Dreams FC to fulfil before they can host Zamalek in the Confederation Cup semifinals tie at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Still Believe lads home game against the Egyptian could be moved to Ivory Coast should they fail to meet CAF’s requirement at the Baba Yara Stadium.

This means, the Black Stars cannot also use the stadium for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June when they face Central Africa Republic.

However, Kudjoe Fianoo, has expressed his displeasure about stadium facilities in the country.

“We are not serious with football in the country but there things that we will have to do to make our game better. Truth be told, it will be a shame for a football country like Ghana not to get a befitting stadium to play Confederation Cup semifinal game”

“The latest stadium in the country is that of the Cape Coast stadium, what is wrong with that stadium” he quizzed.

“We’ve embarked on several renovation works on our stadia, yet we are still struggling to get a stadium to honor international games. In think it’s about time authorities stand firm in certain things. If Dreams FC are unable to play Zamalek in Kumasi, there will not be any home advantage, which will affect in a way”
