I’m open to playing for Ghana – Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah said he is open to representing Ghana Black Stars at international level as he has Ghanaian parents.

The 25-year old wa born in Lewisham, England but both of his parents Elizabeth Asaam and Edward Nketiah are both Ghanaians.

So it makes him eligible to play for the Black Stars but Eddie Nketiah who grew up in England and play for the Youth team from U18 to U21 and even was given his first appearance with the Three Lions in a 1-0 friendly win over Australia on October 13, 2023 wanted the dream to continue with England.

However, he is now 25 and talents continue growing in England and reduce his canches to make it to the first-team again.

As a result, he has now opened the door widely for Otto Addo’s Ghana Black Stars.

“My parents are both Ghanaians, so yeah, of course, it’s a possibility, you know”, Nketiah

“I think I’m open to both, whether that’s playing for Ghana and obviously England as well. told the Beautiful game podcast.

“Like you said, I’ve played for [England] youth team, so naturally, when I was obviously younger, it just made sense [to expect becoming a Three Lion].

“If they [Ghana] calle me up to go and play for them, I’ll be there.”
