Former Black Stars defender Jerry Akaminko has disclosed he has never experienced loan move in his career.
Akaminko, who has been in active since leaving Indonesian outfit Persik Kediri in 2020 in an interview cited hard work reason why he never experienced loan move in his career.
“I have never had a loan season in my career because I always put in the work, to be disciplined. It’s always a headache for me at the beginning of every season because I had always wanted to do something. I couldn’t rest, I was always prepared so I never had a loan season in my career”
The 35-year-old defender has capped 10 times for the Black Stars since making his debut back in 2012.
He featured for Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League before departing for greener pastures, where he spent most of his playing career in Turkey.
He had spells with Orduspor, Manisaspor, Eskişehirspor and İstanbulspor in Turkey before he departed to Indonesia in 2020.
Jeremiah Akaminko was a crucial part of Ghana’s squad that successfully secured qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Regrettably, a few days before the tournament, he suffered an injury that led to his exclusion from the final squad.
