I am determined to develop women’s football in Ghana – Sammy Adjei Jr

Sammy Adjei Jr, son of former Ghana Black Stars defender Sammy Adjei, has been steadily ascending the coaching ranks in the United States, demonstrating his fervor and adeptness in soccer management.

Raised in Ghana, Sammy Jr mirrored his father’s path, not only as a professional player but also as a coach making strides in the competitive American soccer landscape.

Following a prosperous playing career where he trained alongside renowned players like Thierry Henry and Rafael Marquez with the New York Red Bulls, Sammy Jr transitioned into coaching.

His journey has seen him progress from the USL 2 level to his current position as the head women’s soccer coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Caldwell University.

One of Sammy’s aspirations is to contribute to Ghanaian soccer by nurturing young talent and imparting his extensive knowledge of the game.

He expressed his enthusiasm to collaborate with Ghana’s youth women’s national teams, such as the Black Maidens and Black Princesses, underscoring his qualifications and dedication to coaching excellence.

“I would be delighted to undertake an attachment with any of our youth women’s national teams,” Sammy stated. “If that opportunity led to a role within the staff, it would be fantastic.”

He underscored his versatility as a coach, armed with expertise in game analysis software, positional training, and tactical acumen, all of which could greatly benefit Ghana’s emerging football talents.

Currently pursuing his USSF B License, Sammy is on course to achieve the highest coaching credentials from the United States Soccer Federation.
