Henry Osei Okoto Reacts To Removal Of Special Prosecutor

A recent tweet by Henry Osei Akoto has sparked a heated debate about the potential removal of Special Prosecutor Kiss Agyabeng.

Akoto alleges that President Akufo-Addo and the Akyem Mafias are orchestrating a scheme to oust Agyabeng and replace him with a partisan loyalist who will shield them from prosecution.

According to Akoto, this move is motivated by the looming threat of electoral defeat for Vice President Bawumia, and the desire to install a pliable Special Prosecutor who will turn a blind eye to their alleged wrongdoing.

Akoto’s tweet reads: “I think the burgeoning removal of the Special Prosecutor, Kiss Agyabeng is a grand scheme by President Akufo-Addo and the Akyem Mafia to remove the man from office and fix a partisan apparatchik who will not prosecute them when Bawumia finally loses miserably.”

This claim has raised concerns about the independence and integrity of the Special Prosecutor’s office, which has been instrumental in investigating and prosecuting high-profile corruption cases.

Many are calling for transparency and due process to ensure that the office remains effective in its mandate to combat corruption.

As the situation unfolds, Ghanaians are watching closely to see whether Agyabeng will be allowed to continue his work without interference or if he will be replaced by a more pliable appointee. The outcome will have significant implications for the fight against corruption in Ghana.
