Fifi Kwetey Reacts To NDC’s Number 8 Position on Ballot Paper

Fifi Kwetey, General Secretary of the NDC, has explained that the number represents more than just a spot on the ballot paper, it signifies the end of eight years of what he describes as “decay” under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) rule.

“We came here asking for God’s perfect will to be done. And we accept the number 8. After 8 critical years of decay. After eight years of total lack of order…the darkness that has engulfed the country, this is the moment to stop the decay,” Kwetey stated after the Electoral Commission’s balloting exercise on September 20.

The September 20 balloting process, held at the Electoral Commission’s offices in Accra, was a key moment in shaping the upcoming election’s narrative.

One of the most heated moments occurred when the NPP’s Evans Nimako picked the number 1 position on the ballot paper.

Fifi Kwetey wasted no time in expressing his dissatisfaction with how the process unfolded, accusing the NPP of being a “party of illegality” and one “afraid of transparency.”

“A party of illegality, a party that is afraid of transparency will do anything to break the rules. We’ll make sure on December 7, that does not happen,” Kwetey asserted.
