Express your opinions on political issues – NAPO to Chiefs of Nungua

The vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has called on traditional leaders across the country to have a say in the political landscape in Ghana.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh said chiefs play a vital role in shaping the country and therefore need to voice their concerns.

Speaking at a meeting with the Nungua Traditional Council in Accra, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO called on voters in the area to vote for the NPP and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“My campaign is different, I visit all the royal families and I tell them one thing, we tell them to help us, pray, guide us, advise us, and give us instructions. So the Ghana that we develop will develop freely.

“I ask all traditional leaders, elders in the game of politics, are you aware that politicians are flipping out and telling us not to do politics?” How could we be independent if we were not in politics? I am not saying we should wear the colours of the NPP or the NDC.

“I say you have the right to say what is right, whether it be the NPP or the NDC, we have no right to tell you not to be part of us, it is your right to aspire to it. The people of Nungua should look forward to Nungua, it is theirs. Everything God has given to Nungua has been for its development.”
