Former Ajax player Marciano Vink has highlighted the need for 21-year-old Ajax striker Brian Brobbey to enhance his finishing skills.
The critique comes after Dutch-born Ghanaian missed several scoring opportunities during the Eredivisie match against Heracles Almelo (4-1) on Saturday evening, with the most significant chance slipping away after twenty minutes of play.
Vink’s observation has brought to light a noticeable contrast between Brobbey and compatriot Mohammed Kudus.
Kudus effectively capitalized on a scoring opportunity, converting it fifteen minutes before the end of the match, courtesy of an assist from Benjamin Tahirovic.
The contrast between the two players’ finishing techniques prompted Vink to suggest a potential collaboration between Kudus and Brobbey to address the issue.
Speaking on the popular sports analysis show “De Eretribune,” Vink pointed out the distinction in their finishing approaches.
“Wouldn’t it be an idea for Kudus to work with Brobbey? Because of how easily he finishes this ball, using the inside of his foot, calmly placing it in the corner, whereas Brobbey’s opportunities go by in a wild manner.”
