Dreams FC coach Karim Zito laments hectic schedule after securing spot in CAF Confederation Cup semifinals

Dreams FC coach Karim Zito has expressed concern over the team’s packed schedule after securing a place in the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals.

The reigning FA Cup winners fought back to draw with Stade Malien in Kumasi, securing a spot in the semifinals after a 2-1 victory in Bamako.

Zito, who was speaking after the match, admitted that combining league games and Confederation Cup games has not been easy for his side.

“I played four games without my starting six players so it will affect me at all cost i know it will affect me. and if you look at the traveling too immediately I arrived and I went to Samartex the following Wednesday and I came to Kumasi to play,” he told Happy Sports as monitored by

“The Sunday I went to Medeama to play before I traveled to Mali so when we arrived too I have played and I have to go to Berekum and after Berekum come back to Kotoko imagine. It is not easy for these young boys,” he added.

Despite the challenges, Dreams FC will now face Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek in the semifinals, with the first leg in Egypt on April 21, 2024, and the return leg in Kumasi on April 28, 2024.

Zito will be hoping that his side can continue to defy the odds and progress to the final, despite their hectic schedule.
