The National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B, has declared that the party is ready to hold a debate with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) under any conditions.
In a recent Facebook post, Nana B stated that the NPP is ready to debate with the NDC even if the event is held at the NDC headquarters and moderated by the Secretary General of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
“DMB is ready to debate with the JDM, including with Mr. Asiedu Nketia as the moderator and the venue being the NDC headquarters or JDM office,” Nana B said.
The statement follows a request by the Vice President, Dr De Do Martin, who is also the flag bearer of the NPP. Mahamudu Bawumia, after his debate with former President John Dramani Mahama, flag bearer of the NDC.
Despite these demands, Mr. Mahama has not formally accepted the debate challenge. His assistant, Joyce Bawa, rejected the proposal for a debate, saying there was no serious reason to hold one given the current economic challenges.
