A video circulating on social media shows the incident in which a man believed to be in his late 20s was forced by a group of youths to wash off paint in the colours of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In the video, the man, dressed in the NPP’s trademark colours, is seen confronting three youths.
Comments on the video indicate that the man was decked out in the party’s colours and was allegedly asking for alms in a traffic jam.
The youths, who are said to belong to the NPP, were visibly upset by the man’s behaviour.
They confronted him and forced him to splash water on them to wash off the paint.
The man struggled with the group, screaming for help and, according to commentators, calling for police officers who were at the scene but did not intervene.
