We will vote for Bawumia in December – Angry members of Atta Mills family

The family of the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills has expressed anger at the National Democratic Congress for what they say was unfair treatment at their relative’s 12th anniversary wreath-laying ceremony at Asomdwee Park.

Some family members expressed dissatisfaction that they were being disrespected by party members.

They have therefore threatened to vote against the NDC and instead vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the coming December elections.

In a video posted by UTV on X, one of the family members said: But what they did today, they neither acknowledged nor respected us. As a family we were told to arrive at the ceremony between 7am and 12pm. When we arrived, they told us to leave, and when we tried to join in the prayers, they told us not to. “We know Mahama is innocent of what happened today, but he has obviously been affected, so no one in our family is going to vote for the party,” she said angrily. Another member complained, stressing, “I am an NDC member, but if they did what they did today, we would be beaten by 8.”

A wreath laying and memorial service will be held in memory of the late former president.

The event will provide an opportunity for Ghanaians from all walks of life to pay their final respects and commemorate the legacy of Professor Atta Mills and his contributions to the country.
