BoG shuts down Dek-Nock Investments for accepting deposits without a license

The Ghana Police, in collaboration with the Bank of Ghana, shut down Dek-Nock Investments, based in Nungua and Ashaiman in the Accra Metropolitan Area, on Friday, July 19, 2024, under Section 20(2)(g) of the Banking and Special Deposit Taking Act, 2016 (Act 930).

According to the Bank of Ghana,  Dek-Nock Investments was engaged in accepting fraudulent deposits in contravention of Section 6(1) of Act 930.

According to a statement by the Commissioner General of the Bank of Ghana, Sandra Thompson,  “The Ghana Police Service is conducting further investigations into the business activities of Dek-Nock Investments. All clients of Dek-Nock Investments are urged to remain calm during the investigations. The public and all stakeholders will be kept informed of further actions.

The Bank of Ghana will continue to work with relevant law enforcement agencies to crack down on illegal deposit transactions, adding that all perpetrators will be punished in accordance with the law.

The bank assured the public of its commitment to promoting the integrity and stability of the financial system.
