Brian Brobbey’s wastefulness in front of goal stretches from his days at Jong Ajax – Marciano Vink

Former Dutch international Marciano Vink has said Brian Brobbey’s finishing issues stretches all the way back to his time at the AJax youth team.

He claims the 21-year-old Dutch-Ghanaian would convert one chance in eight good scoring opportunities.

Vink claims Brobbey’s wastefulness won’t get talked about because he scored, when he actually missed six other good opportunities.]

He is saying this after the young striker missed a number of chances in Sunday’s Eredivisie opener against Heracles.

“He had this issue even in Jong Ajax. He would have eight chances and score two. Everywhere it would read ‘Brobbey scores twice,’ and everyone would think it’s fantastic,” Vink said on the “De Eretribune” show.

“But then there were six instances where he could have dealt with the chances a bit better or more carefully. Someone like Kudus, but also someone like Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, could work with him.

“So that he keeps a good eye and places the shot with the inside of his foot, instead of being wild and forceful.”
