GFA Genereal Secretary Prosper Addo explains why Congress will be held in Tamale

Prosper Addo, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has unveiled the rationale behind the selection of Tamale as the distinguished host for the forthcoming 2023 Elections Congress.

Addo shed light on the strategic considerations that underpin this crucial decision, showcasing a blueprint that not only emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility but also aims to harness the rich footballing spirit that resides within the heart of Tamale.

“The decision to take the elections to Tamale it is in our plans that Ghana Football Association is there for our football family in all the the football regions in Ghana,” he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

“So we have planned to take football everywhere in the past you will see that every final is played in Accra. You will see a conscious effort that we are moving the finals to every part of the country.

“The same thing the congress too we are moving it there is nothing in the football rules that says congress should be held in Accra never.

“Unlike the FA cup per the rules first it was played in Accra but we have removed that today the FA cup can go to Tamale, Kumasi, Cape Coast, Sekondi Takoradi. So the same way the ExCo congress decides the only rule is that ExCo decides the venue, date and time,” he ended.
