The Member of Parliament(MP) for Cape Coast South Constituency, Mr. George Kwaku Ricketts-Hagan has called on Ghanaians not to panic in the upcoming general elections but to visit their various voting centres and cast their votes peacefully.
He again admonished the electorate not to see the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections as a do-or-die affair, as this is merely a process for them to elect a new crop of leaders.
“Ghana is a peaceful country. We have had elections multiple times and we have done it peacefully. Many a time, we will go to an election, and some people will try to undermine the democracy that we are enjoying. I just pray and hope that we will have peaceful elections,” Kwaku Ricketts-Hagan observed.
According to him, the policies of the government or political party are not a war, it is like the citizens want A or B and you are telling them how they will get to A or B. And when Ghanaians vote for their choice, that becomes law, and we have to all support, so there is no point in going to lose your lives over this election. Just be vigilant, cast your vote, and God will choose the preferred candidate”, he advised.
Kwaku Ricketts-Hagan predicted that the NDC will win both the presidential and parliamentary elections in the Cape Coast South Constituency but still have a lot of work to do to achieve the party’s dream since the NDC led by John Dramani Mahama and Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang are Ghana’s hope.
“I am assuring you that the Cape Coast South Constituency of the NDC will never, not shortly, lose the parliamentary elections,” he stated.
“My next four years is to tap into John Dramani Mahama’s policies, including the 24-hour economy.” he stressed.” while promising to set up or create Kotokruaba market microfinance loans to give soft loans to women to expand or improve their businesses since most of the women are breadwinners.
